In Onondaga County alone, approximately a third of 470,000 people - many of them children, seniors and the working poor - are at risk of hunger and food insecurity. The Samaritan Center is always in need of volunteers to help in ways such as handing out a hot meal. Take the kids today and show them how to get involved.

A simple compliment can be the difference between someone having a good day or a bad day. A simple walk around the block can be the difference between a happy dog and a sad dog; and a donation of ANY amount at ALL can make ALL the difference.
Founder of Hope Chest for Charity, Shelly Straub says “When I was in my 20’s and 30’s, life consisted of working too much, raising kids and spending off hours complaining about life’s responsibilities. I didn’t spend any of my time giving back to the community that kept me employed, schooled my children, and entertained me on my off-hours. I hope that these simple daily reminders in the #Give365CNY campaign will offer suggestions to people of any age that giving back is a small task with huge rewards.”
